A satellite is an object orbiting another object, such as the Earth. Satellite systems are used, among other things, for TV and ground observations by collecting information about the Earth's surface or atmosphere using instruments on the satellites. Satellites are also used for satellite navigation such as GPS and Galileo, and for satellite communication, including VSAT.
